History and Background

This oil has been used since ancient times and in Ayurvedic medicine in working with gastrointestinal and appetite problems.

In Chinese medicine, neutral action, wood element, circulates stagnant Liver, Stomach and Intestinal Qi, tonifies Stomach Qi, alleviates general symptoms of stagnant Liver Qi.

Psychologically, good for perfectionists who have little tolerance for mishaps and mistakes, those who have trouble delegating. Facilitates adaptability through relaxation, encourages energy, gives courage, counters emotion of worry. Affinity for 2nd chakras.

Physical Description

Our Orange essential oil is a yellow-orange or dark orange color, yet is still a transparent liquid.

Aromatic Description

This Orange essential oil has a medium-strength, warm, fresh, citrus and sweet aroma.

Biological Makeup and Components

Over 90% monoterpenes, mainly limonene. Also contains bergapten, auraptenol and acids.

Extraction Technique

Cold express (hand or machine) of fresh ripe or almost ripe outer peel and steam distillation of fresh, ripe, or almost ripe outer peel.

Orange is a top note, blending well with lavender, neroli, lemon, clary sage, myrrh, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove - almost all oils. Good for extending expensive oils.
