Lead Batch Maker

Do you love beauty products? Love to cook? Source Vitál Apothecary is looking for an organized individual who is a self starter to become a Product Apprentice.

The Product Apprentice will learn how to produce Source Vitál's wide range of skin care, body care, personal care, and aromatherapy products. This position reports directly to Source Vital's General Manager. It is a full-time position paid hourly, with opportunity for occasional overtime (but not required). Hourly rate depends on candidate's experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to adhere and understand product formulas to produce batches of product that are consistent in color, texture and effectiveness each and every time a batch is made
  • Follow a production batch schedule and work with the Production Manager to ensure product availability at all times
  • Abide by FDA requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Maintain an impeccable level of lab cleanliness
  • Organize, manage, and maintain ingredient inventory with precision
  • Make recommendations on product processes and formula changes
  • Research and recommend new ingredients to be used in existing or new product development
  • Meet with vendors to investigate possible ingredient additions to our inventory
  • Work closely with Product R&D Lead to produce new and reformulated products
  • Maintain and manage a 3-year batch sample inventory library
Requirements:
  • Must have a solid understanding of mathematics and unit conversions (i.e. volume to weight measurements)
  • Must be organized, punctual, and able to manage your time appropriately to ensure production of all products
  • Experience working in data-heavy excel documents, product inventory databases, or similar software

Preferred/Optional Requirements

  • Previous experience working in the beauty industry
  • Candidate may also have experience working as a chef

    Warehouse & Production Associate

    The Warehouse Operations Associate position is an opportunity to work in a face paced environment. The role of the position is to assist in several areas of Source Vital's supply chain. Attention to detail is one of the most important qualities required of the position. Teamwork and high energy is required. This role is perfect for college students looking to learn more about supply chain processes, warehouse and business operations and end-to-end product production. Open to flexible hours. Full -time and part-time opportunities available.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Operation, assembly and cleaning of product filling equipment
    • Monitor product and packaging component inventory
    • Operation of automatic labeling equipment
    • Perform Quality Assurance checks during all phases of product assembly and packaging
    • Perform order fulfillment and verification
    • Maintain cleanliness of filling rooms, equipment & production utensils
    • Assist in label production and labeling product
    • Pulling customer orders
    • Assist shipping department with order assembly and boxing

    REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

    • Basic mechanical knowledge
    • Ability to follow established manufacturing, production, safety and supply chain processes
    • Working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
    • Ability to work in a high paced atmosphere
    • Detail oriented attitude

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    • Able to lift up to 55lbs

    PAY

    • $12-$15/hour depending on experience
