In India and Sri Lanka, Vetiver is known as the "oil of tranquility" for its calming and grounding effect on the mind, body, and spirit.
Vetiver adds an earthy element to exotic fragrances. It is said to help with rest and soothing mental exhaustion.
Uses of Vetiver Essential Oil
- Vetiver has great cleansing properties. Mix a few drops with an unscented face cleanser to remove impurities and improve the appearance of acne-prone, congested, oily skin.
- Vetiver promotes deep relaxation when a few drops are added to a warm aromatic bath.
- Add a few drops of Vetiver, Lavender, and Orange to water diffuser or vaporizer to encourage a calming effect during stressful times.
- Mix in a few drops into a carrier oil (such as Safflower, Sunflower, or Jojoba) and use in massage to ground and balance emotions.
- Inhale the aroma of this oil when lacking motivation, feeling disconnected, or need to inspire empathy.
