History and Background

Historically, it was considered sacred and was even used as a form of currency. It was so valuable that it was traded for gold and was one of the most prized trade items exported from India to the rest of the world. It was considered more valuable than gold.

Thousands of years ago, Black Pepper was prescribed in Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha, and Traditional Chinese medicine texts for curing colds, recurring pains, fevers and in purifying treatments, especially for Malaria.

It is considered stimulating, reviving, comforting, and improves mental clarity and memory. It has an affinity for the 1st chakra and issues around impotence, builds kundalini and moves energy to the 2nd chakra.

Steam distillation from black peppercorns, dried and crushed. Light and heavy oils are produced by extraction of low or high boiling fractions. Oleoresin produced by solvent extraction.

Pepper Black is a very strong oil and can take over a blend so use in small concentrations.
