This oil takes its name from the town of Bergamot in Northern Italy. It's has been used since the 16th Century in France and is mentioned in many old texts.
In Chinese medicine, cool/dry action, wood element, smooths flow of Qi, harmonizes Liver Qi, releases and circulates stagnant Stomach and Intestinal Qi. Psychologically, encourages release of pent-up emotions, especially unexpressed anger, redirects unproductive or addictive behavior to rediscover spontaneity and optimism, relax and let go. Effective when the gate of consciousness/love is opened. Balancer between survival and the higher plane enlightenment. Effective on the 4th chakra, but not as strong as rose.
