Skincare can be a tough topic to navigate, especially when trying to switch to a natural routine. We caught up with Fran Higgins, our director of education, to answer your natural skincare FAQs.
Why are natural skincare products better than mainstream products?
The natural ingredients in our products contain minerals and “feed” your skin the nutrients that you don’t get from your diet. One of the biggest issues people face with their skin is dehydration. Drinking more water or using moisturizer can help this, but without minerals in your skin and body, it won’t stay hydrated. Natural ingredients, especially seaweed, provide minerals, which hold the hydration and make your skin look younger!
What is the best way to minimize acne scarring?
The majority of scarring is caused by picking at your face. Leave your face alone and you’ll prevent scarring!
What are the best preventative measures for aging skin?
Having a good, twice daily, skincare regime is the most important thing you can do for your skin. Wash your face, and then treat it with high-quality products that provide nutrition, hydration and moisture. In addition to your skincare routine, get plenty of sleep, manage stress, and limit UV exposure.
How often should we exfoliate our skin? What is the best way to do it?
The general rule is to exfoliate once a week. Facial scrubs are the most popular exfoliant, but its best to stay away from scrubs with a nutshell, as it will end up abrading the skin. Another great method is a gommage—a thick gel that hydrates and plumps up dead skin cells. Give our Citrus Peel a try!
Best way to get rid of cellulite?
Getting rid of cellulite isn’t an overnight solution. A combination of lifestyle changes and stimulating wraps will yield the best results. Sticking to a cleaner diet with more fresh foods and less additives and preservatives and adding regular exercise will make a huge difference. The best treatment is to manually stimulate the area with massages and a circulation-increasing product like our Body Sculpting Gel.
