Aging Gracefully (from Guest Blogger Madeleine Pope)

We are all getting older. The question is, what are you going to do about it?
This weekend at my cousin's wedding I was inspired by the beauty of my mother, Brea Gratia (Houston's Sanctuary Spa owner and former owner/founder of Source Vitál). She is truly aging gracefully. I asked her what her secret was and these were her tips:
  1. Take great care of your skin. Exfoliation is key. Brea recommends the Fango Scrub and the Active Silt Mask. Fango Facial Scrub is a micro-exfoliant, giving you similar results of a microdermabrasion treatment. Silt Mask is full of active ingredients resulting in improved skin metabolism, plumped skin layers, healthier blood network, & regeneration of the skin’s immune system. It is important to have a nourishing system you follow daily to maintain healthy, radiant skin. Getting regular facials is also recommended to decongest, stimulate, and nourish the skin.
  2. Maintain a healthy weight. Brea feels that her biggest hurdle with aging has always been maintaining a healthy weight. Weight gain is often a symptom of aging as muscle cells deteriorate, leaving you less able to burn calories than when you were younger, according to NPR. Exercise, eating in moderation while including healthy meal choices, are key in combating the effects of age.

No matter your age, it's never too soon or too late to start taking great care of your skin and your body. Click here for aging skin kits by Source Vitál.
