What Not to Do With Blue Tansy Oil

With more than a dozen ways to put this oil to use in your home and life, you can see that Tanacetum Annuum is a powerful product. As with all powerful oils, avoid direct, undiluted application on the skin. Because oils don't mix with water, avoid adding drops of this essential oil directly to your bathwater, where they can float around and then get on your skin and irritate it. In these cases, carrier oils are a must-have resource.

Tanacetum Annuum  also has the deep blue hue it's named for, and it will sometimes stain clothing, so ensure you keep it away from fabrics. You should also keep it away from beverages, food products and anything else you might ingest.

Anytime you use oils in aromatherapy, make sure you know what you are using. Blue Tansy oil is not the same as Tansy oil, which can be toxic and is not appropriate for these uses. Tanacetum Annuum is sometimes referred to as Blue Chamomile, but so is Chamomile German (which is not toxic, but doesn't have the same benefits as Blue Tansy oil).

Be careful of adulteration, as a rare and special oil there can be versions out on the market that are not 100% pure.

Source Vitál Apothecary's Blue Tansy Essential Oil is 100% pure and undiluted. There are no fillers or synthetic additives. We source this lovely oil from Morocco. It has a complex aroma that is described as refreshing and herbaceous, with a sweet, fruity note.

Blue Tansy blends well with all the Chamomile oils, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Marjoram, Myrtle and Neroli.

When you follow these precautions, Blue Tansy oil can be a huge benefit in your skin care or aromatherapy regime.
