Uses of Marjoram Sweet Essential Oil

Add Marjoram Sweet to your massage blend for athletes to ease the feeling of tightness in sore or over-worked muscles or muscle spasms
Add to your cold/flu blend and breathe deeply or diffuse in an electric or vaporizing diffuser. Also, add a few drops to a cotton ball and breathe deeply several times to ease the feeling of stuffiness.
Add a few drops to your air conditioning filter to "clear" the air.
Making a perfume blend? Use a few drops to add an oriental, herbal, slightly spicy note.

History and Background

Marjoram Sweet originates from the Mediterranean area, the word "Origanum" is from the Greek word 'orosganos' meaning 'joy of the mountain'.

Fresh Marjoram was given to newlyweds as token of good fortune. The Greeks used Marjoram Sweet in medicine and perfumes. During the 16th century, it was strewn on the floor to cover up unpleasant smells. Prior to the use of hops, Marjoram Sweet was used in brewing ale.

Holistically, it calms emotions, anxiety and stress. Helps calm hyperactivity.

Physical Description

Colorless to pale yellow/amber color with a thin, liquid consistency.

Aromatic Description

Herbaceous, nutty, slight woodsy note.
