Allopathic uses: Anti-viral,
antiseptic, anti-toxic, antibiotic, anti-infectious,
expectorant, febrifuge.
Indications: Flu, colds,
bronchitis, diarrhea, fever, cold sores, chicken pox,
measles, muscular pain, muscular fatigue, general tonic,
viral infections, detoxification after illness, shingles.
Holistic uses: With respiratory
link, may be useful for sadness and grief.
Contraindications: Non-toxic,
non-irritant, non-sensitizing.
Blending: Blends well
with bay, benzoin, bergamot, black pepper, cardamom,
cedarwood, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus (all), geranium,
frankincense, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, mandarin,
marjoram, lemon, palmarosa, pine, rosemary, sandalwood, tea
tree, thyme linalol, thyme red. Particularly effective
blended with Calophyllum Inophyllum, a carrier oil, for
viral conditions.
Chemical Components: High terpene
alcohol and cineole (+55%), sabinene (+10%), a-pinene, b-pinene,
p-carophyllene, terpenyl acetate, b-carophyllene.
Characteristics: Colorless.
Watery consistency. Slightly spicy, camphoraceous, woody
herbaceous aroma.
Extraction: Steam distillation
from leaves, fruit and bark. |
