Botanical Name: Pogostemon cablin

Allopathic uses: Antidepressant,

Indications: Acne, athlete’s

eczema, fungal infections, impetigo, insect repellent, oily
hair and skin, open pores, frigidity, nervous exhaustion and
stress-related complaints.
Holistic uses: In Chinese
medicine, neutral/dry energy, earth and fire element,
deficient Spleen Qi, harmonizes Earth element and Intellect
by grounding and stabilizing the mind. Reawakens creativity,

Blends well with labdanum, vertiver, sandalwood, cedarwood,

Chemical Components: Patchouli
alcohol (40%), pogostol, bulnesol, nor patchoulenol, bulnese,
patchoulene.
Characteristics: Amber or dark
orange color. Sweet, warm, herbaceous, earthy, musky, spicy
aroma.
Extraction: Steam distillation of
