Emmenagogue, analgesic,
balancing, cholagogue, vermifuge.
Indications:
Menopause, premenstrual
syndrome, lack of periods, teething or toothache pain,
hepatobiliary disorders, intestinal parasites, aphrodisiac.
Holistic uses:
In Chinese medicine, yin energy. Grounding. Facilitates
dream work. Increases psychic activity. Affinity for 6th
chakra. Restores lost virility.
Contraindications:
Oral toxin, due to high thujone content. Do not use during pregnancy, abortive. Use
with caution.
Blending:
Blends
well with blue chamomile, cedarwood, oakmoss, patchouli,
rosemary, lavandin, pine, sage, sandalwood, clary sage,
frankincense, myrrh. Up to 10% in blend.
Chemical Components:
Thujone (20-60%), cineol,
pinenes and dihydromatricaria ester.
Characteristics:
Yellowish-brown color.
Musky, camphoraceous, bitter-sweet, herbaceous, strongly
aromatic.
