Allopathic uses:
General antiseptic, diuretic, healing,
anti-depressant, soothing, mental balancing.
Indications:
Overwhelm, fatigue, colds, coughs, balsamic,
expectorant, anti-spasmodic, stimulant, parasiticide,
hypoglycemic, vulnerary.
Holistic uses: In Chinese medicine, warm/dry
action, metal element, clears Lung phlegm, tonic of
Lung Qi, clears dampness and congestion, strengthens
Defensive Qi. Relieves melancholy, revives spirit,
promotes a wider perspective on life, dispels
stagnated feelings. Good for those feeling
emotionally constricted, transforms sense of
suffocation into expansive renewal. Sharpens
perception. Stimulates the 6th and 7th chakras.
Contraindications:
Non-toxic, non-irritant. If taken internally, toxic
and as little as 3.5 ml has been reported fatal.
Blending:
Top note. Blends well with thyme, rosemary,
lavender, marjoram, pine, cedarwood, lemon and other
myrtaceae family.
Chemical Components:
Cineol (70-85%), pinene (10-12%), globulol (6%),
limonene, cymene, phellandrene, terpinene, aromadendrene.
Characteristics: Colorless. Strong, fresh,
camphoraceous, balsamic, slightly sweet aroma.
Extraction: Steam distillation from fresh or
partially dried leaves and young twigs.
