Botanical Name: Oremenis mixta
Anatomical areas: Skin, liver,
spleen, colon, nervous system.
Allopathic uses: Anti-spasmodic,
sedative, calming, emmenagogue, hepatic.
Indications: Sensitive skin,
headache, insomnia, migraine, irritability, menopause, liver
and spleen congestion, colitis, colic, depression.
Holistic uses: In Chinese
medicine, yin energy, wood element. Helps release emotions
linked to the past, dispels anger. When used on the throat
area, helps expression of true feelings. Yin energy.
Contraindications: None.
Blending: Middle note. Blends
well with rose, marjoram, geranium, lavender, lavandin,
vetiver, cedarwood, labdanum, olibanum, cypress, benzoin
resinoid, grapefruit, neroli, other chamomiles. Up to 5% in
blend.
Chemical Components: Trans
pinocarueol, borneol, bornyl acetate, bisabolene, b.
carophyllene, a. pinene, cineole, yomogi alcohol, santelena
alcohol and artemisia.
Characteristics: Pale yellow to
brownish-yellow color. Fresh-herbaceous top note, sweet
rich-balsamic undertone, aromatic, slightly bitter.
Extraction: Steam distillation
from flowers.
