Botanical Name: Cinnamomum
camphora
Anatomical areas: Skin,
circulatory system, muscles and joints, respiratory system,
immune system.
Allopathic uses:
Anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal,
counter-irritant, diuretic, expectorant, stimulant,
rubefacient, vermifuge.
Indications: Acne, oily skin,
arthritis, muscular aches and pains, rheumatism, sprains,
bronchitis, chills, cough, colds fever, flu infections
diseases.
Holistic uses: Used for
purification and to promote celibacy.
Contraindications: Relatively
non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing. Not compatible
with homeopathic treatments. Can be toxic in high doses.
Blending: Middle to top note.
Blends well with lauraceae family.
Chemical Components: Cineol,
pinene, terpineol, menthol, thymol. Does not contain safrol
which is toxic and carcinogenic.
Characteristics: Colorless to
pale yellow color. Sharp, pungent, camphoraceous aroma.
Extraction: Steam distillation from wood, root
stumps and branches. Then rectified under vacuum and filter
pressed to produce fraction.
