such as Spirulina

Blue-Green Algae is multi-celled
with a thin, weak membrane and thus has good
digestive absorption characteristics. Rich in
high-standard, easily digested protein (60-75%),
this exotic blue-green alga can be found in alkaline
waters (sodium bicarbonate content, hence soft
waters) of some lakes in Africa and Mexico as well
as the U.S.A., China and other areas of the world.
Because of this highly alkaline condition of the
waters, spirulina becomes highly resistant to
disease, other microorganisms and natural enemies.
